I like how the people who work at the animal hospital wear hospital gowns. Like it's a real hospital or something.

Hey, NPR just played "Return to Hot Chicken" by Yo La Tengo. You know, as like filler music.

Ok, Reverend Horton Heat concert at Milestones on May 2. It's a Monday, tickets are 18 or 20 bucks. Who the hell wants to go? Reverend Horton Heat is amazing, in case you were in doubt. Like crazy alt-country sort of. It's called psychobilly I think. Everyone should go.

What a spectacular break. I won't go into details, but involved hanging out with Pat, Carly, Anna, Dane, Fussy, Diana, Jiggy, and Zach. Great times.

Today we celebrated my birthday. We went out to lunch at California Rolling. Man, what excellent. I love sushi so much. For my birthday I got 215$ towards an electric cello and a cell phone. If you want to be added comment. Or something. I don't know. I don't really want to post my number publicly, but, you know.

I also bought "Come On Pilgrim" by the Pixies. Unfortunately it's only 20 minutes long. What a rip off. I hate Barnes and Noble now. At least it's a good album.

Right now I'm arguing to Morgan that Ben Folds is overrated. Which he is. No questions asked.

I don't know what else I did over break that's worth mentioning. If I think of anything, I'll be sure to add it.

EDIT: I thought of something else to add. I have blank cds. If I have any albums you want me to burn you, tell me.

Also, Carly is more excited for my birthday than me. I'm excited for an electric cello when I get one. If I don't spend any of my current money, I can add like 45 more dollars to the total I have for one. Of course I'll probably spend some of my money. But oh well.

The soiree last night went excellently. Quite honestly, everyone there did great. Musicface played the set I posted earlier very well. We were also asked to play one more song to fill up time, so Anna was like 'well you have the Lua lyrics on you, don't you, why don't we play that?' So we played Lua, which, uh, went well? I don't know. I was really nervous, and I messed some of the words up, and Fussy laughed at me the entire time. But I sure got tons of pity applause :-) And Morgan is a great pianist, I had on idea. She played 3 pieces she composed and they were really good. And she played and sang 'Alleluia' with Courtney and Shana and that was really really good too. All in all, it could easily be said that this is our first successful performance, seeing as Springfest was a giant debacle and a half. We're going to record a demo over spring break and hopefully get that to various places and get out there a bit more.

So today I managed to break a guitar string strumming without a pick. I'm not sure how. Maybe because I was playing one of the best songs ever, "Styrofoam Boots/It's All Nice On Ice Alright" by Modest Mouse. (Don't worry Carly, I just got it replaced.)

Speaking of best songs ever I made a list. This list will probably change in a matter of weeks, but here it is for now, these are unquestionably the 10 best songs ever, in no particular order:

Radiohead-Paranoid Android
Wilco-I Am Trying to Break Your Heart
David Bowie-Space Oddity
Sigur Ros-Track 8
The Pixies-Debaser
Modest Mouse-Styrofoam Boots/It's All Nice On Ice Alright
Old Crow Medicine Show-Wagon Wheel
The Rolling Stones-She's A Rainbow
XTC-Easter Theatre
Yo La Tengo-Deeper Into Movies

So I've been getting alot of 'you really need to cut your hair's' and only about 2/3 of them are from Zach. The number of people who don't like my hair seem to greatly outweigh the number who do. I like it. I'm not sure what I should do though. Hmmmm.

Well what do you know. Reverend Horton Heat is playing at Milestones sometime in early May. Who wants to come see some amazing alt country with me? And Of Montreal is playing in Ithaca/Purchase (I'm not sure which is closer) sometime in May too. Who wants to come see them with me? I think Victor Wooten is also coming to Water Street sometime this month, and I might go to that simply because of his reputation. Yeah, I've been browsing tour dates all morning.

So do you remember those pictures I tried to post ages ago but couldn't get to work? Probably not. But I figured out how to get them to work. Behold the best poster ever, created by Zach and Carl, with little help from me and Brendan Rivers.

And NO ONE argues with Zach the Jew.

This break has been excellent. Very excellent. Yesterday I jammed with Zach and it was MUCH better then the first time we jammed. Then I went to Pittsford Plaza with Anna, Carly, Diana, and Utsav. Other highlights included the day care with Carly which was a ton of fun, me and Carly convincing Utsav that my full name was Thomas John Macnamara, eating Sushi about 4 times this week, and just hanging out with everybody. Carly started calling me T-Mac as a result of convincing Utsav, though she knows my real name. I also saw the following movies: Hitch, Elephant, A Day Without a Mexican, and the Story of the Weeping Camel. Elephant was fantastic, A Day Without a Mexican was pretty good, Hitch was painfully mediocre, and the Story of the Weeping Camel was awful and boring.

Apparently there is an Interpol concert in Niagara Falls next week. Unfortunately it's on a school night and I'm broke, so I seriously doubt I can go. It'd be nice.

So today I slept in because, you know, assembly in the morn, might as well get some sleep. So around 10, I roll up to the school. I walk into the attendence office, turn around to look at the schedule and see what period it is, when lo and behold, I find out that the assembly is in the afternoon, not the morning. Haha, but missing 3 classes completely legally is COMPLETELY fine with me. And then I 'forgot' my bathing suit, so I just sat there listening to music and getting caught up with homework in gym. A very fine day overall, minus the assembly, which, as usual, was a waste of time (apologies to people in the play, if, uh, any of you read this?)

Right now Sasha's telling dead baby jokes to my sister and laughing everytime she finds it really gross. I love dead baby jokes. OH and Pat invited me to join this new jam project thing of his in which I will be the worst musician in the group, but it'll be pretty sweet anyways. I plan on listenign to a Grateful Dead/Phish concert tonight to familiarize myself with some of the stuff we're going to be playing.
